JISLC 2012

 

The Johore Student Leaders Council (JSLC) is proud to announce the 2^nd Johore Student Leaders Conference(JISLC) to be held on June 26 & 27, 2012, at Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. The aim of JISLC 2012 is to encourage student leaders from schools (age 13-18) throughout Asia and beyond to meet and exchange ideas, views, initiatives, and visions on an international platform; engaging in a cross-cultural learning environment.

This year’s theme will bring together the viewpoints and proposals of student leaders all over the world on a very critical issue of sustainable development that may determine the future of the generations to come. The United Nations 2005 World Summit Outcome Document refers to three reinforcing pillars that form the underpinnings of sustainable development which are i. economic development ii. social development and iii. environment protection.

Indeed, student leaders in schools today have a big role to play in bringing about the awareness and deep understanding of sustainable development. They can be the world community’s focal points for deepening the integration and development process through advocacy and peer education initiatives. Indeed the voice of student leaders has been recognized as significant and vital in the process of seeking solutions because the decisions made now will have an effect on the decisions of the future leaders. Consequently, this conference will serve as a huge platform for, not only the expression of ideas, thoughts, inspirations and reflections on issues of sustainable development but also the celebration of world peace and harmony.

To this end, the Johore Student Leaders Council (batch 2011) takes this honour to extend a cordial invitation to young student leaders across the globe to congregate at the Johor International Student Leaders Conference 2012 that will perhaps mark the very first milestone undertaken by global leaders of tomorrow.

Hye everyone! My name is Amira Aisya Binti Abd Aziz but the JSL’s family call me by the name Amira. I was born on 14^th February 1995. I was born in Hospital Benut, Pontian and Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru. the story of how I was born is always a story I love to tell the most. But, it’s difficult to be said here as it is too long. You can ask me via my FB. I am from SMK (P) Sultan Ibrahim or well known as SIGS. I was brought up by my mother who is also an English teacher since the death of my father on 2007. I have 2 amazing brothers and a wonderful sister. JSL Asha Nair

Hello there!  I am Asha Nair, on the verge of completing my secondary education in Segamat High School.  Needless to say, I believe I can get along and work well with everyone easily. 

I firmly believe that nothing is impossible if we strive towards accomplishing our goals.  Being the youngest daughter in my family, I have been blessed with guidance from my elder siblings, single mum and this supportive upbringing has resulted in me becoming independent, determined and optimistic person I am.

Ever since entering secondary school, I often put my fingers into every pie but never neglect to understand the importance of time management. As the saying goes, time and tide waits for no one. I currently hold several posts in my school such as, Assistant Head Prefect, President of St. John Ambulance, President of English Society and President of Tennis Club.

I enjoy playing tennis in my spare time as this physical activity keeps my mind and body active.  A balanced lifestyle is an essential part of my life so that I will not just be a diamond in the rough.  Besides, I also love playing the piano.  Currently, I am in the midst of completing my Grade 8 from Associated Board of The Royal School of Music (ABRSM), London.

Today, I am truly grateful to be chosen as a member of Johor Students Leaders’ Council and I can confidently say that with the joint effort among us as a team of young leaders, all of us in this cohort will be able to realize our mission as Johoreans consequently bring this state towards great height of success and recognition.

Hey there you, (guy, girl, man, woman or anyone who is stalking me), My name as you could see above is Harvind Raja Gopal which is named by my deceased grandfather after a lotus flower. I am the eldest of two very playful siblings (which makes me even playful) and to make short I have a wonderful family. Firstly, I would like to say that I am very grateful to be in JSLC and I would not like to forget the support given by my parents and teachers to enter this team of 20 marvelous people guided by the extra-marvelous coaches. Hello, everyone! Good day! I am Hasnyzar or Hasny for short. I was born on 6th April 1995. I have 2 older brothers and 1 older sister and I am the youngest in the family. I would describe myself as a 5 feet 5/8 inch tall, simple, open-minded, approachable, friendly kid as I love knowing and being with people. I am a secretary and an active member of my school's Softball Club and a treasurer for my school's charity club; Kiwanis Key Club. Also, I am lucky enough to be one of the Johor Student Leaders Council. Like a typical jovial teenager, I enjoy socializing (haha), sports, photography, web surfing, listen to all kind of music genres, and foods (of course). 'I listen, I observe, I think, I speak out, I react' is a simple quote that I hold dear ever since I was in my early primary school year. A successful, happy life is what everyone, including me, chasing to, for a lifetime mission. Now, other than my studies, i would love to learn and master multiple languages.   My name is Mohammad Farhan bin Mohd Fuad. I am the oldest among three siblings. I was born in 1995 at Hospital Sultanah Aminah at Taman Perling accompanied with my beloved parents and an active young brother. I am proud of my father in discharging his responsibilities with dedication despite busy with his career as journalist. My mother is the best mother that I have dividing her career as an executive at Johor Corporation with her role as a loving mother at home. I'm that girl you can hear from a mile away but probably can't see. Yeah, i'm the small girl with a loud voice, and proud of it! Convent Girl, born and raised in Johore Bahru. My cries were heard for the first time on the 24th of February 1995. I'm very much of a people's person and I love being around my friends! I love animals and hopefully after my SPM I'll be able to volunteer at an animal shelter. I also do charity work under my school's Interact Club. I am very thankful to be given this opportunity to become a JSL because it has molded me into who I have become. In life, I have been most inspired by art. Painting is my passion.
